Owl Notables

After enduring a challenging stretch on the road, where they lost six of their last eight games, FAU is banking on a turnaround during their upcoming three-game homestand against Tulane.

To bolster their chances, FAU's bullpen needs to regain its form, especially after conceding 10 or more runs in three of their last five games. With Tulane boasting a solid offense capable of hitting multiple home runs, strong performances from starters CJ Williams, Tyler Murphy, and Trey Beard will be crucial.

On the bright side, John Schroeder appears to be finding his groove as a key hitter for the Owls. Recognized on the AAC Honor Roll for the second time this season, Schroeder boasted an impressive batting average of .353 in four games last week, including three home runs, seven RBI, and five runs scored. His impact in the upcoming series could be significant.

Similarly, Jalen DeBose has been heating up at the plate. Despite his six-game hitting streak coming to an end against FIU, DeBose has maintained a solid batting average of .381 in his last eight games, making him a valuable asset in helping FAU put runs on the board.

Following this series, the Owls will go on the road to Coral Gables for their fourth and final matchup against Miami on April 23rd at 6:00 PM. The game will be broadcast on ACCNX.

The starters (in non-batting order) for game one should be that of the below:

RF Jake Millan
CF Spencer Rich
LF Jalen DeBose
1B Emilio Gonzalez
2B Christian Adams
3B Patrick Ward or Daulton Frank
DH Carter Brady
SS Brando Leroux
C John Schroeder
P CJ Williams

Green Wave Notables

The Owls are gearing up to face a sneaky Tulane team, whose Cinderella run last year, despite a challenging regular season record of 15-39, ended with an impressive victory over East Carolina in the AAC championship game, earning them a spot in the regionals.

Tulane's remarkable improvement this season, with five more wins and counting than the previous year, highlights their determination to excel. Led by Preseason AAC Player of the Year, Teo Banks, who boasts eight home runs, the team poses a significant threat.

Among Tulane's standout players is first baseman Brady Marget, leading in batting average (.329), hits (48), and total bases (73). Marget's recent accolades include being named to the American Athletic Conference's weekly honor roll, showcasing his consistent performance and offensive prowess.

FAU must also be vigilant of catcher Colin Tuft, boasting the highest OPS on the team (.967), and third baseman Gavin Schulz, leading in doubles (10) and RBI (30). Left fielder Jackson Linn's impressive slugging percentage (.571) and triples (3) add depth to Tulane's lineup.

On the pitching front, Jacob Moore stands out with a stellar 1.69 ERA, striking out 33 batters while maintaining a low opponent batting average of .198. FAU will need to approach Moore with caution when he takes the mound, as he presents a formidable challenge to opposing hitters.

After this series, Tulane will return home to New Orleans to host Southern Miss on April 23rd at 7:30 PM. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
