Senior Anne Vaughan and sophomore Christina Wallinger both had seven kills, but the Florida Atlantic volleyball team (10-10, 1-3 Sun Belt) lost to Middle Tennessee in three sets (12-25, 23-25, 14-25) on Saturday.
The Owls fell behind early in the first set, and could not catch up to the Blue Raiders (14-4, 5-0). Georgia Robinson served FAU out to an early lead in the second set. The lead grew as large as five points before MT rallied to tie the score at 14. The two teams traded points before MT took a 24-22 lead. A Vaughan kill staved off one set point, but an Izabela Kozon kill gave the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead.
The score was tied at seven in the third set when a 12-4 MT run helped them clinch the match.
FAU finishes its road trip next Saturday when they face FIU at 7 p.m.
