WKU Tops FAU Women 73-46

After sitting out the last three games, Vontrice Dennis paced FAU with 11 points and six rebounds in Sunday’s 73-46 loss to Western Kentucky at E.A. Diddle Arena.

The Owls (4-13, 1-5) started the game strong on both ends and held an early 4-0 lead after the first two minutes of play.

However, the Lady Toppers (7-11, 4-2) answered in a big way and ran off 16 straight points before FAU could answer.

WKU held a double-digit lead for the remainder of the first period and entered the halftime locker room with a 30-17 advantage.

In the second half WKU continued to pad their lead en route to the 27-point win.

FAU continues to struggle in rebounding as WKU outgained the Owls 50-36 on the boards.

Four Lady Toppers scored in double-figures, led by 16 points by Janae Howard.  Arnika Brown and LaTeira Owens both recorded double-doubles.  Brown had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Owens added 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Dennis was the lone bright spot for FAU, tallying a team-high three assists to go along with her 11 points and six boards.

The Owls will return to Boca Raton and have the week off before returning to Sun Belt action next Saturday at home against UALR.  Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m at FAU Arena.
