Middle Tennessee State got in front early and stayed there in an 83-52 rout of Florida Atlantic (4-12, 1-4) on Wednesday night in Murfreesboro.
With the Owls hitting only four first half field goals, MTSU shot lights out at 63.3%, including 8-of-12 from long range, and led comfortably at halftime 49-12.
FAU would fare better in the second period, outscoring the Blue Raiders 40-36, but could not overcome the first period's deficit.
The trio of Lyrell Barfield (15), Takia Brooks (11), and Breana Turner (10) were all in double figures for Florida Atlantic.
Middle Tennessee (13-4, 4-0) out performed on the boards 40-23, hauling in 13 more grabs defensively.
The Owls next travel to Bowling Green to take on Western Kentucky this Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
