Arkansas Little Rock remained undefeated in conference play on Saturday afternoon, downing Florida Atlantic 68-54 at FAU Arena.
Forward Breana Turner dropped a team high 12 points for the Owls (4-14, 1-6), and freshman point guard Takia Brooks added nine points, eight boards, and a game-high five assists.
FAU trailed by just a point with under 5:00 to play in the first period before UALR went on a 12-3 closing run to lead 31-23 at halftime.
The Trojans (13-5, 7-0) continued that trend into the second period, mounting a 23 point deficit that was too much for the Owls to overcome.
Preseason Sun Belt Player of the Year Chastity Reed led all scorers with 19 points, and Marian Kursh notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 grabs for UALR.
Struggling from beyond the arc, FAU shot just 3-of-15 from long range, while committing 22 turnovers.
Florida Atlantic continues its three-game home stand on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. against Middle Tennessee State.
