2020 FAU Targets Battle in Cross County Show Down

The Palm Beach Lakes Rams took down the Pahokee Blue Devils in dominating fashion Thursday night by a score of 48-0.

The Owls had a number of targets performing on the field for both sides.

Defensive linemen Jaylon Williams, and athlete Jermaine Robison are both being eyed for the Blue Devils.

Linebacker Vincent Starling and wide receiver Chris Johnson headline the Owls' Rams' interest.

All showcased their play making ability throughout the contest, and provided updates on their recruitment immediately afterwards.

Williams played nearly every snap for the Blue Devils on both the offensive and defensive lines, pushing defenders around and forcing many runs to bounce outside.  The 6-3’’ 290 three-star prospect is a high priority target as the Owls graduate 5 defensive lineman after 2019 season.

“The atmosphere was great and the coaches showed me a ton of love,’’ Williams told FAUOwlsnest when asked about his visit to the FAU vs UCF game. Willams added that FAU is in his top three right now along with USF, and Jacksonville State. Owl fans can expect a decision from Williams before the early signing period as he is planning on being an early enrollee where ever he attends.

Robison who projects to a wide receiver at the next level plays quarterback for Pahokee was injured mid-way through the first quarter and was unable to return. Robison did tell FAUOwlsnest before the game, he plans on attending the FAU vs Marshall game on October 18th.

Starling (photo above) was making plays all over the field on a defense that allowed zero points and forced 7 turnovers. The lengthy 6’3 200 lbs three-star prospect holds 15 reported offers, and told FAUOwlsnest, “Everything is wide open right now,’’ when asked about his recruitment status. FAU, USF, Southern Miss, Liberty, and Ole Miss are just some of the schools interested in Starling’s services. Starling added that he plans on attending an FAU game later this season.

Johnson had catches of 44 and 15 yards with the ladder being for a touchdown. The 6-2’’ 190lbs receiver has yet to receive an official offer from FAU, but remains in contact with wide receiver coach DJ McCarthy. He currently holds offers from Southern Miss, Florida A&M and Toledo.

The early signing period for 2020 prospects begins on December 18th, 2019 and goes until December 20th.
