FAU Football Game Day: What’s New 2022

The 2022 Florida Atlantic University football season begins on August 27, and FAU wants all guests to be prepared for game day. There have been a number of enhancements made this season to improve the overall fan experience, many based on feedback through annual surveys of ticketholders. Please review some of those enhancements below to find out how to take full advantage of what FAU Stadium has to offer ahead of the 2022 season.

Text Message & Virtual Assistant: All fans are encouraged to utilize FAU's Virtual Assistant to help answer questions about tickets, events, schedules and more. Also, on game days, Game Day Fan Assistance is a call or text away. Please call or text (941) 500-4987 for direct customer service. If needed, personnel will be dispatched to rectify the problem or issue. Signage will be displayed throughout the stadium as friendly reminders of this feature.

Wayfinding Signage: To help direct fans around FAU Stadium, FAU has installed additional wayfinding signage. These banners/signs will help identify your current location and provide visuals to assist you in getting you to the appropriate gates.

OpenGate: FAU has invested in CEIA's OpenGate metal detectors to help with transit flow of pedestrians. It will allow security to continue to inspect guests, along with their personal items, and clear bags with minimum waiting time. With OpenGate, fans may keep all items on them as there is no longer a need to remove items such as mobile devices, wallets, keys, eyeglasses, etc from pockets.

Cashless Concessions: FAU Stadium's concessions offerings will be cashless this season. This change will improve efficiency and reduce wait times in concessions lines. 'Reverse ATMs' that accept cash and dispense prepaid ReadyCredit prepaid debit cards, which may be used virtually anywhere, including FAU Stadium will be available inside FAU Stadium. In addition, the two FAU Team Stores will also be selling prepaid credit cards.

Bar Cabanas: New field-level bar cabanas are available in the north end zone and offer sightlines that are hard to match, including a full view of the videoboard/scoreboard. These 6-foot by 12-foot, comfortable and private bar cabanas are behind the north end zone of Howard Schnellenberger Field at FAU Stadium with a capacity of four patrons. Currently, a limited number of luxury bar cabanas are still available for season purchase. Please contact a Paradise Club staff member at (561) 297-4621 or via email at [email protected]. Student In-Stadium Tailgate: Beginning 90 minutes prior to kickoff, all students are welcome to gather on the concourse underneath the student section (east side) of FAU Stadium. The In-Stadium Tailgate will be located directly behind the student section seating on the concourse, between the entrances to Gates 4 and 5. In collaboration with the Student Government Association and the Prowlers, students will now be given the opportunity to enter FAU Stadium at the conclusion of the student tailgate. Among the benefits of this new experience are discounted concessions, DJ entertainment and an area for students to take advantage of the shade prior to making their way into the seating bowl to enjoy the game.

Seating Changes: The Marching Owls and visiting team seating locations have changed this season. Capitalizing on the momentum from the postgame engagements between our student-athletes, students and Marching Owls, FAU has relocated the FAU Band to Section 129 in the southeast corner of the stadium. The stadium atmosphere will be enhanced by directly integrating the band with the students. With this change, visiting team fans will now be seated at the north end of the stadium in section 119 of the lower bowl and section 219 of the upper bowl.
