FAU Football set for the 2024 American Conferece Media Kick-Off
The American Athletic Conference has announced that its 2024 Football Media Days will be held Monday and Tuesday, July 22-23 at the Loews Arlington Hotel in Arlington, Texas. The in-person event will launch a new era in American Athletic Conference football as Army West Point plays in the conference for the first time.
The American has had its champion play in a College Football Playoff semifinal or New Year’s Six bowl seven times in the last 10 seasons heading into the first year of the new 12-team CFP format.
Head Coach Tom Herman, offensive lineman Federico Maranges, and linebacker Jackson Ambush will be representing Florida Atlantic University as they prepare for the upcoming 2024 season, the second for the Owls in The American.
FAU closed out their inaugural league campaign at 3-5 in conference play and will be looking to climb the ranks after having had brought in a plethora of transfers on both sides of the football.
Five of The American’s 14 teams will have their projected starting quarterbacks in attendance. Memphis senior Seth Henigan, a Denton, Texas, native, is expected to be the only fourth-year player nationally to start at quarterback for the same team in all four years.
UAB’s Jacob Zeno returns after a 2023 season in which he ranked second nationally in completion percentage (73.6%) and threw for 3,126 yards and 20 touchdowns.
South Florida’s Byrum Brown will be in attendance following a 2023 season in which he was one of two players nationally to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 800 (Heisman Trophy-winner Jayden Daniels of LSU was the other).
They will be joined by Army captain (and Abernathy, Texas, native) Bryson Daily and Charlotte sophomore Max Brown, who joins the 49ers after playing in six games for Florida last season.
Below is the full listing of each schools planned participants.
Owl's Nest Staff Reporter Robbie Lastella will be on hand for the duration of the event to take in a plethora of sights, sounds, and exclusive interviews from a number of select program leaders and members. Be sure to follow along with us on social media and here as well, as we periodically share some select photos and videos during his travels.
The American Kickoff will air Tuesday, July 22, at 9:00 AM EST as Morgan Uber, Rene Ingoglia, Taylor McHargue and Brooke Kirchhofer interview coaches and student-athletes from all 14 teams. ESPN+ will have that telecast, along with a second feed that will feature the full press conferences from the head coaches.

Certainly enjoying all the reports.
Had lunch with Jackson before he left and he was super excited about being picked to go to The AAC Media Day
Looking forward to camp reports as well.
RED - The international font color of sarcasm…..
Keep up the great work!
Agree 100%. Looked at roster and don't know a thing about who or what this team will be. It does affect expectations, if any! Not to mention 4 years in a row of below average results.
I AM 100% for the Owls but they gotta start winning like they should be with the talent we have had.
So far our Coaches, post Lane, have been less than exciting or confidence building!
100%. If it wasn’t for this board and a few tidbits I picked up from NCAA 2025 (we are going 6-6 this year btw) I’d have no idea who was on this team. Thanks for the content!
It is refreshing to see how this coach handles the media compared to Taggart.
He brings some excitement when he speaks.
Not sure what to expect but this season our schedule is easy and the coaching staff has 1 year of experience with this team, so I do expect at least 8-4 season.
I was never impressed with the QBs we had last year but I am more confident with the new ones this season.
I would like to see the TE position more involved.
Did the season ticket holders increase this year?
I am just curious to see if every year we are gradually increasing.
It's like night and day, literally. The Taggart calls were so similar, always like pulling teeth to get any kind of information. Herman tells it like it is, discloses injuries, and is not afraid to talk strategy - very much like Schnellenberger.

New NCAA head really intent on destroying non Power 4 football programs and schools!
This is horrible.
The NCAA is on track to ruin non Power 4 sports programs.
Again, schools with money will benefit, while others will fall behind.
Going to echo the same sentiment here. Been paying attention to all the coverage you guys have brought so it's got me back into a football mood and I'm excited about the season but don't have any expectations simply because of the unknown. AAC Lighthouse Twitter/X account has helped me get to know the important names at the offensive positions.
Do what? Lol
😂 Should’ve been more clear. I meant to say they’ve listed top players for ALL teams in the conference and it’s helped me with some of the names to keep an eye on.
We all know who’s the No. 1 source for all things “FAU.” 🫡
