Murillo Hired as On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator/Director of Player Personnel

Former Nebraska and CFL cornerback Armando Murillo has joined the FAU football program as the On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator/Director of Player Personnel.

Pelini stated back in April that he was looking to hire someone to the position after Heather Henderson was appointed to the Director of Football Operations – and he has found a candidate with ties to both Florida and the junior college scene.

Murillo graduated from Robinson High School in Tampa and attended Eastern Arizona Junior College before making his way to Nebraska.

As the On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator/Director of Player Personnel, Murillo will coordinator offical and unofficial recruiting visits while helping with day-to-day operations of the football program and the recruiting aspects.

Murrillo (pictured) played for Pelini at Nebraska during the 2007 and 2008 seasons and started 24 games for the Cornhuskers. He had stints with both the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.

He is the brother of current Arizona Cardinals cornerback Javier Arenas and the cousin of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas.

Pelini wanted someone who could become a valuable recruiter in this role, and he has brought in the ideal newcomer for his staff.
