Same old feeling as FAU gets drubbed again

Ah, to have that feeling that Western Kentucky fans are having today. That ULM fans had last week and is still there after the Warhawks nearly went 2-0 in the SEC...

To go into a money game and win or scare the crap out of the opponent and silence their fans. (WKU's OT win over Kentucky was even bigger, since it was the equivalent of FAU beating Florida or Florida State -- a directional U knocking of the state's big dog.)

Unfortunately FAU fans have not had that feeling in a long, long time. And Saturday was no different. The best that could be said is that the Owls delayed the blowout through much of the first half before Georgia took control.

And when the Bulldogs broke out, they blew FAU out of Athens, gaining a record 713 yards (328 rushing, 385 passing). FAU had a total of 318.

FAU did cover the spread in the 56-20 loss, and the offense did show something in the first half.

But Alabama is next, and they looked pretty good in shutting out Arkansas, and they will now be motivated to get their third straight shutout.

FAU's next winnable game is North Texas, and the Mean Green hung with Kansas State through most of the third quarter before the Wildcats shook free.

A lot of Belt teams have been making noise early this season as they have refused to be the patsy, but the Owls continue to play that role all too well.
