Fearless Predictions for Week Seven - FAU Off

fearlesspredictions2010week7

Six weeks into the season and the Owls are not where most fans had hoped they would be. FAU takes the weekend off and the break will hopefully pay dividends as the Owls look ahead to the last 7 games of the season. With the Owls sitting this weekend out there are still some good SBC games as well as some interesting games around the country.

10/16 Florida International @ North Texas

FIU is 1-4 overall and 1-0 in the SBC after having earned a win against WKU last week. UNT is 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the SBC. The Mean Green carry two straight conference losses into the game against FIU. UNT still has plenty of questions at QB. FIU is a talented team that should have some success in the SBC. A win for FIU puts them at 2-0 in conference play. FIU has more to gain from a win than UNT has to lose from a loss. This game will be close, but FIU will win on the road.

FEARLESS PREDICTION:
Florida International 28
North Texas 21

10/16 Troy vs. Louisiana (Lafayette)

Troy is in prime form going into this contest. The Trojans are 3-2 overall and 2-0 in SBC play and they looked very strong in last week's win 42-13 win against MTSU. Troy QB Cory Robinson has been spectacular. He has thrown for over 1500 yards with 11 touchdowns to only 3 interceptions. He will be the SBC player of the year. Troy has scored no less than 30 points in every game this season. Louisiana is 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the SBC. The Cajuns look to make a statement against Troy. The Cajuns have had good QB play from Chris Masson. Even with good QB play and a productive offense Louisiana will need some major breaks in order to beat Troy. I have to go with Troy in this one.

FEARLESS PREDICTION:
Troy 38
Louisiana 24

10/16 Western Kentucky vs. Louisiana Monroe

Western Kentucky has lost 25 straight games. Could this be the week that the longtime FCS power breaks through and gets a W at the FBS level? ULM is 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the SBC. The Warhawks look to keep pace in the race for the SBC title. ULM has not scored more than 21 points in a game this season. That was against FCS team Southeast Louisiana in a 1 point victory. WKU has not been much better offensively, but they did put up 28 points on SEC opponent Kentucky. History will be made on Saturday. WKU wins.

FEARLESS PREDICTION:
Western Kentucky 24
Louisiana Monroe 21

In non-SBC action South Florida faces #25 West Virginia tonight (FEARLESS PREDICTION: West Virginia by 7), future FAU opponent Texas plays at #5 Nebraska (FEARLESS PREDICTION: Nebraska by 14+), #12 Arkansas plays at #7 Auburn in a big SEC West matchup (FEARLESS PREDICTION: Auburn by 7), and #1 Ohio State faces #18 Wisconsin in Madison (FEARLESS PREDICTION Ohio State by 3).

Relax and enjoy.
