The Florida Atlantic University baseball team has been predicted to finish second in the 2014 Conference USA standings, as selected by league coaches. We are looking forward to our first go around in Conference USA, said FAU Head Coach John McCormack. It is nice that the other coaches see our program as a good addition to the league. FAU ace Austin Gomber (pictured) was named to the preseason All-Conference team in FAUs first season in the league. Gomber compiled a record of 8-4 with 103 strikeouts and a 2.97 ERA in his sophomore campaign. That is a great honor for Austin, McCormack said. He has worked hard and deserves it. FAU opens the 2014 season at home against Notre Dame on February 15th in a scheduled double-header. Game times are slated for 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Predicted Order of Finish 1. Rice (12) 2.
