The class of 2026 additions are rolling for Florida Atlantic Football, as on Sunday the Owls added another piece to the roster puzzle. Pensacola Catholic WR/DB and Pensacola native Justin Weatherall announced he would be beginning his collegiate career at FAU.
The 5 ’11 180 pound 2 way player becomes the second High School commit of the class of 2026 for first year Head Coach Zach Kittley and is set to bring a ton of production to paradise, primarily as a defensive back, but potentially on both sides of the ball.
Through 2 varsity seasons at Pensacola Catholic, Weatherall has recorded 69 tackles, 8 PBUs, and 3 interceptions on the defensive side of the ball, while offensively he has recorded 20 receptions for 345 yards and 2 scores and he also has returned 7 punts for 27 yards.
Heading into his senior season, Weatherall had numerous offers including AAC foes Tulane and Army, as well as UNLV, Oregon State and more, however he has opted to head to FAU after an official visit this past weekend. Weatherall has been to the Boca Raton campus multiple times, first with the Herman regime and this past weekend for the first time under Kittley and the family based approach from the staff had him sold on his most recent OV.
“I previously had been on visits with the old coaching staff and loved the school, (this past weekend) I wanted to come check it out with the new staff to see if I could call it home, it was a great OV experience very family oriented environment with great staff members,” Weatherall said.
It is expected Weatherall will first start as a DB once he gets to college, however he brings a boatload of versatility to the table, not only playing both WR and DB, but also playing as a gunner and returning punts on special teams, something that could potentially help earn him playing time right away as a freshman.
Heading into his senior season before heading to FAU as a part of the class of 2026, Weatherall has his eyes set on making plays on both sides of the ball and already has goals in mind as to exact stats he wants to reach in his final season of High School football.
“(My stat goals for next season are) 1000+ all purpose yards, 7+ picks and 60+ tackles,” Weatherall said.

Weatherall becomes the first in-state High School commit for the Owls, joining Sean Williams from Fairburn, Georgia as the first 2 class of 2026 commitments for FAU and when asked what he is looking forward to once he gets to FAU, Weatherall said he is simply ready to get to work.
“Hitting the lab and getting on the field (is what I am looking forward to most in 2026)”, Weatherall said.
