Florida Atlantic Football lands former Missouri Defensive Lineman Joe Moore via transfer portal

Florida Atlantic Football made multiple additions to their defensive line through the transfer portal this offseason and a big one came late last week. Former Missouri Defensive Lineman and 3 star recruit Joe Moore announced he would be spending his 5th season of CFB in Boca.

The 6 ‘2 255 pound edge rusher has spent the past 2 seasons at Missouri, playing in 17 games and recording 15 tackles, 2 for loss, 1.5 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries. Prior to transferring to Missouri in January of 2023, Moore spent the first 2 years of his collegiate career at Arizona State, playing in 15 games, recording 30 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

This past season Moore was working into the Missouri defensive line rotation, recording 2 tackles, a half of a sack and a fumble recovery, however he played in just 2 games before suffering a season ending injury against Buffalo on September 9th.

Coming out of Cardinal Ritter High School, Moore was a 3 star recruit and had offers from Oregon, Iowa State and Wisconsin, among others, however he opted to commit to Arizona State on October 18th 2019.

Moore entered the transfer portal on April 14th this offseason and remained a 3 star recruit per ON3, ultimately committing to FAU on May 6th 2025.

A pedigree for success, Moore is the son of former Chicago Bears running back Joe Moore who was drafted 11th overall in the 1971 draft.

Moore will have a chance to make an impact on the line and is one of 10 additions overall to the defensive line room joining portal additions Enyce Sledge, Earl Miller Jr, Cam Done, Chennelson Exume, Tyclean and Tycoolhill Luman, CJ Doggette, Naejuan Barber, Deshaun Batiste and freshman Cameron Gooden.
