Florida Atlantic Football added an offensive lineman through the transfer portal on Monday afternoon. Former Washington State OL and 3-star recruit Carson Osmus announced he will be transferring to FAU for his second season of eligibility.
The 6’6 305 pound Camas, Washington native will be a red-shirt freshman this upcoming season, having used his redshirt this past season for the Cougars. Coming out of Camas High School, Osmus was a 3-star recruit and number 17 overall prospect in Washington per ESPN.com and he turned down offers from Nevada, Colorado State and Oregon State to attend WSU.
As a member of the Scout Team during his redshirt season last year, Osmus was recognized as the Scout Team player of the week during week 6 against Fresno State. Following a staff change, Osmus did remain a part of the program during Spring Ball, ultimately entering the transfer portal on April 15th during the second portal period.
Osmus was turned down an offer from UConn to transfer info the Zach Kittley offense and FAU and according to Osmus, that decision was based around the coaching he’ll be able to receive in this offense.
“Coach Kittley and Coach Hamby were the difference makers. I’m excited to grow and develop as a player under them,” Osmus said.

Originally recruited as a tackle prospect out of High School and at 6’6 305, Osmus will have a chance to win a starting tackle job for the Owls this offseason with a strong summer and fall camp.
Following a redshirt season, what Osmus is looking forward to most this season is simply just getting back onto the field.
“I’m looking forward to getting to Boca and playing some ball with the boys,” Osmus said.
